New Single Announced + Nomination for Welsh Music Prize

‘Remember Me’ is the affecting and epic new single from Jodie Marie’s critically celebrated, Bernard Butler–produced LP ‘Mountain Echo’ and is set for release on Monday 29th October 2012.  Watch a live session of ‘Remember Me’ herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WM58PYP4KY

Aside from passionate praise for ‘Mountain Echo’ by all quarters of the press, each of Jodie’s singles has now enjoyed playlist status by BBC Radio 2, including the likes of ‘On the Road’, live favourite ‘I Got You’ and her last offering, ‘Like a Runaway’, a duet with acclaimed musician Ed Harcourt. Otherwise, a hectic live summer has seen Jodie and her band perform all across the UK and Europe, including multiple festivals such as BT London Live in Hyde Park and Secret Garden Party, as well as further dates with former live accomplice Will Young on his huge, sell–out Forest Tour.

Still only 21 years old, it really has been an incredible 12 months for the soulful singer from Wales, who is uniquely reaffirming her newly found ‘national hero’ status with a Wales-only tour in September and October (all dates below). Building on this, ‘I Got You’ was recently included in the Western Mail’s 50 Best Welsh Songs Ever’ feature, with a full hour documentary released to the S4C channel, highlighting her story so far. Prestigiously, meanwhile, Jodie recently received a commemorative award in her native Narberth, Pembrokeshire in recognition of her musical achievements, whilst her debut album ‘Mountain Echo’ has just been named as one of the nominees for the Welsh Music Prize, a ceremony launched last year by winner Gruff Rhys and his ‘Hotel Shampoo’ album. The ceremony occurs on 17th October in Cardiff.
